The Via Ferrata in St Christophe looks out over the Vénéon gorge whose waters come from the glacial cirque at La Pilatte giving them their incredible turquoise hue. The route is continuously interesting, visually stunning and physically demanding. The via-ferrata is made up of two sections and starts from the Plan du Lac at the white-water sports base. 1st section : Leaving from: Plan du Lac (1200m) Arriving at: Le Banchet (1400m) Climbing time: 2H30 The route passes along the rockface overlooking the Vénéon. This is an alternative route to walking along trails, with short, steep walls and a 15m-suspended passageway. The route emerges near the village of St Christophe traversing up and across a high outcrop. Return route : Take the road to the Plan du Lac : 30min At the village of St Christophe take the path in the direction of the Vieux pont du Diable: 10 min. At the Plan du Lac take the themed trail (Hameau des Granges) : 45 min. 2nd section : Leaving from: Le Banchet (1400m) Le Collet (1544m) Climbing time: 1 hour Easy route perfect for beginners. Return route : Au Plan du Lac by the trail : 45 min. At St Christophe follow the path : 15 min.
